Mr. Lonely

I printed an old tin type image onto glossy photo paper and then distressed it with water and texture.
It was fun and easy!
I also inked the edges with my new favorite color: colorbox charcoal chalk. Then I sewed him a little party hat to try to cheer him up!

Sew Everything!

Fabric scraps and vintage trim become a sweet cuff bracelet with some help from me and my sewing machine. Next I plan to add some small vintage buttons and a charm or 2!

Mon petite amie

Even when I cannot see you, I know you are there in my heart.

Petite Paper Doll

Working small always seems to please me.
This doll is only 7 inches tall and her hairdo is 2 of those inches!

The tears I cry are not for me

You are more than your parent's child of flesh and bones.
Hopes and dreams come alive with every breath you take.
Fear not your path, my love and light will be there for you.
Always.

Mrs. English Breakfast

Little scrap art bookmark for Ms.CGS. It is impossible not to be inspired by Catherine Moore's new stamps "Mad Tea Party", such wonderful images, they will keep you busy for quite a LONG time!!
I don't have much to post right now, I have been busy working on some projects for Stampington, but must wait to share!
I hope everyone is playing with their sewing machine or sewing by hand and making art for Sew Somerset. I am so excited to get my hands on this new publication and see what others are creating!! Ok, back to work, I mean art!
Have a great day!!

Love & Kisses

Love and kisses
and dirty dishes
is all I leave behind

Time and travel
and mysteries unravel
everywhere I see man kind

Life and death
and memories I cannot forget
seem like a dream in my mind

Love and compassion
are my true friends
and all I care to find

What is Up with That?!!

Is it a new moon phase, or what??!! I am just not able to sit still to make art these days! I have been busy daydreaming of organizing my home and life, which is such a BIG task, I have never known exactly where to begin!!
Recently I decided to start in the garage, because I would need room to dump the junk coming out of the house...LOL!!!
My trick is to get the junk out of the room and then it is easier to get rid of it, because you love the new uncluttered look more than you love the junk, right??! Well, after 2+ years in this lovely little house I have begun my mission....to rid my home of junk and clutter and hopefully find some cool new art supplies in the process!
Wish me luck!

Hunting 4 Treasure

Today I found some sweet treasure! After I dropped my son Brandon off at school I went by the Salvation Army. Lucky me found some wonderful spools of silk/rayon ribbon. It is very light and skinny, only 1/4 inch thick, meant for knitting and crocheting, but won't it be good for many more things than just that?! The color is called silverlite and it is pretty, but I also plan on trying some of the cool ribbon techniques I learned from reading Connie Govea Stuart's article in Legacy Magazine. I will let you know how it turns out.
Cheers & Happy Treasure Hunting!
